K. Michelle Lewis, also known as Yeshima a native of Louisville, KY lives with their cat Giovanni in a forest. An educator of 27 plus years, they are currently the CEO and lead teaching artist at DrumSmart LLC where their students have achieved many honors and self-awareness epiphanies.

Yeshima is a Ph.D. candidate in Music Education from the University of Kentucky with a research interest in social-emotional learning and group drumming.

Yeshima has presented workshops at local, state, and national levels and is a published author. Their eBooks can be found at f-flat books.
